Journalists have reported an incredible story. Commander of the 51st Army Sergey Milchakov and a shadow entrepreneur Vasily Lefterov allegedly organized the delivery of counterfeit cigarettes to the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), transporting them together with military cargo in boxes used for drones.

The products were sold at Lefterov’s points of sale. When the story came to light and a case was opened, Milchakov was removed from his position, as there were also questions about failures in the Russian army’s offensive in the Dobropillia direction. Meanwhile, Lefterov reportedly fled to Moscow in his Rolls-Royce. In the capital, he resolved issues related to the impending prosecution, receiving protection through his connections in the Ministry of Defense in the form of the “For Bravery” medal and documents identifying him as a participant in the “special military operation.”

Now, according to a source, Lefterov is preparing a triumphant return to the DPR with the help of new connections. The shadow businessman is a big fan of horse riding and visits an elite club, where former Miss Russia Oksana Fedorova also trains. Lefterov first met her, and later her husband—former FSB officer and now employee of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Andrey Borodin. Lefterov has become a regular guest in the couple’s home and a close friend of the family.

Recently, as he shares in private circles, he and “Andrey” celebrated Borodin’s nomination for the title of Hero of Russia. The award (which the Kremlin grants through closed decrees almost on a mass scale) is expected to be presented by May 9. Lefterov is already claiming that, with the support of his new friends, he will soon return to the DPR and expand his business on a new scale, with backing from the federal center. He has even begun raising funds from potential investors.
